Hottest Day of All Time in South Korea As Temperature Hits 42.5°C


Yangsan, South Korea, recorded a temperature of 108.5°F August 2, 2026. It was the highest temperature recorded in the country on any date since modern weather observation began in 1904.  This was the fifth consecutive day of record heat.  

The city’s latitude is similar to San Fransisco.

“Extreme heat killed two elderly men in South Korea over the weekend, taking the death toll from the ongoing heatwave to at least 16.
